Is it done?

"I'm so done..."

But are we ever really done? Do we ever truly walk away? Or is a part of us - of our soul - still attached in some way to the thing we want to be completely separate from? Are we ever 100% detached? Every experience we have leaves some impact on us - so does it ever really leave? Isn't its legacy always there?

If these things appear as I've laid them out to be, how should we avoid this predicament? I believe that the only way to be completely detached is to not be fastened in the first place.  The only way to isolate yourself from the suffering of "goodbye" is to never say "hello". If this is the trickiest of things to ignore, is pain therefore inevitable?

Food for thought...

Christmas Magic

If you all have some time between caroling and eating your lovely holiday dinner, I encourage you to check out this website
that has a load of links that will direct you to some fun and freaky stories about Christmas.

It's Christmas!!

So let's be honest. When you woke up this morning... How excited were you? How fast did you run to the tree? How loudly did you yell for everyone else wake up? How quickly did you shred the paper from each present labeled with your name?

I sincerely hope that each one of you got what you wished for - I know I did! I received some lovely presents. Despite the hundreds of dollars worth of clothing and accessories, nothing compared to opening a box and getting a check addressed to the DMV for $54 - the exact amount needed to get my permit!! It was the only surprise under the tree so it really caught me off guard. It was genuine and one of the sweetest gifts given to me. (Thanks mom!)

If you're wondering what all your friends got while waiting for them to update their Instagrams, look no further. According to a recent survey, Apple products were most popular this season. Specifically the iPhone 5s and the MacBook Air. Even some of my own friends got these things and if you listen to them, the IPhone 5s is sleek and works efficiently! And the MacBook Air is expensive but totally worth it. So if you're writing your list for next year, you know what to ask for!!

I hope you all enjoy time spent with your family and have a very Merry Christmas! Tune in for more holiday posts. :-)

The Mystery of Writing Techniques

What is the best technique for writing? Should you close your eyes and let your mind take you where it needs to be to find peace? Or should you spend consecutive hours each week planning out exactly what to write? Is revision the key in great works of literature? Or should minimal changes be made in order to protect the sacredness of the original piece? I have never actually written anything worth reading nor have I finished anything that may be worth reading, so how should I know? If I ever do, I’ll let you know. But if any of you have, I encourage you to weigh in and help me solve this mystery.

PS - look for the next post, it is going to be very superb:)

Real-life or Elaboration?

In an author’s life, their impetus for writing a New York Time’s Best Seller is clearly an event where something great or tragic happened. They build off of that experience to write a beautiful love story or horrific tale. In other words, you need something impossible to happen to write in a way that makes it seem possible for the ordinary person. So are those that write books – extraordinary? Are they more special than the rest of us? Do authors have to experience something wonderful in order to write something that is just as juicy? Or should they elaborate to figure out the right words to piece together? Something to ponder...

PS - super sorry for not posting, more posts coming up today! :~)
